Okay long review so i'll try to summarise with the details that I can:

It starts with the sppeal of the game: it "isn't the vast open landscapes", "it isn't the forward thinking technology that powers the striking, adaptive storyline, nor is it the truly extraordinary visuals".
It isn't the "violent slapstick and chain-splodes of the hysterically volatile camps, filled to the brim with ammo dumps and fuel tanks." It's not the moments of "pure adrenalised catharsis" whre you mow down enemies nor when you kill the survivors with your machete.
It is the "moments beforehand". The appeal is all about the "calm before the storm".

Described as the "most player-centric world yet created"

After some tutorials and early missions you are released into the world with just a note saying "kill the Jackal" and then everything is up to you. "Far Cry 2 breaks new ground. While there is a script and a story, the details of who does what, who lives who dies, who's left standing at the end, really do lie in your hands. Far Cry 2 comes closer than any commercial game yet to a truly dynamic narrative."

When you start the game each beginning will be different for each player. You will start off in a different location with a different character given a different first objective.

Other examples of this dynamic narrative are how it accepts when you succeed or **** up. Say you die, it's not game over one of your companions comes to help you dragging you away. She then gets injured by a grenade and you have to help her BUT if you have no syrettes left you can't help her, she will die. You have 2 options let her die in pain OR euthanise her.

The story isn't perfect. Some of the characters are a bit bland and there aren't really any outstanding personalities. Also the 2 main factions are quite bland.

The after effects of your play-through seem trivial to begin with but it's only when the game reaches the climax does the effects of your choices become clear. Which could be about 40 hours in (it's a long game) or double if you do all the side missions.

It mentions how games never really do ethics right but far cry 2 removes ethical considerations and promotes self-interest. Who you save is purely down to your medical supplies and who you like.

The gameplay is "some of the most visceral in gaming" and is mentioned to be a good contender for GOTY.

It is a very absorbing game for a few reasons:

• It is extraordinarily beautiful
• It's commitment to first person is total and immersion is key to the game. Such as the map in game is an actual item or another example mentioned is when entering safe houses you are searched by lackeys who get right into your face.
• It has "a hypnotic pace"
• Lastly, "the unfolding of the day, and impercetiple changes in weather and lighting lull you into an almost complete acceptance of far cry 2 as a place."

It's not perfect there are criticisms.

• The buddies are under used.
• Vehicle combat is crap.
• The very story heavy sections are weak.
• There is no real backstory fleshed out in the game, the reviewer had to read the manual to find the name of the country.

It will have a benchmarking tool in the game.

Some will feel frustrated because baddies respawn after you've taken them down. It frustrated the reviewer but after a few hours he stopped caring.

Speriamo sia bello leggero ed ottimizzato (con leggero ovviamente non intendo 1920x1200 con AA4x e Anis16x su una 8800gt a 40 fps minimi, ma su una gtx280 si)

Già.Concordo.Diciamo che se ci sono gli stessi livelli di Crysis (Low-Medium-High-Very High) mi piacerebbe poterlo giocare ad High,1280x960 in DX9 a 40 fps minimi con la mia 8800 GTS.
Cioè più o meno il doppio delle prestazioni di Crysis...
A giudicare dai requisiti diffusi dovrebbe essere così.Resta da vedere se sono requisiti reali oppure a membro di segugio come quelli di Crytek...

Va bhe tanto adesso dovrei beccarmi la gtx280 (al limite la 280+) e anche se gira a 2fps lo prendo lo stesso.

Veramente FC2 dovrebbe essere sviluppato prima di tutto per PC e poi per console.Infatti se non ricordo male tra le differenze citate fra le varie versioni c'era migliore grafica e framerate più elevato per la versione PC.Quindi il porting al massimo sarà dal PC alle console...

confermo. Inizialmente è stato sviluppato solo per PC, e doveva uscire a marzo, poi quando hanno visto che è con le console che si fanno i soldi, a gennaio hanno detto che lo avrebbero sviluppato anche per ps3 e xbox 360, spostando la data di uscita in autunno.

Bhe a parte il fatto che è DX9 l'unica cosa che potrebbe appesantire il gioco sono ombre (e quindi luci) e fisica (in crysis non mi sembra che se esplode una bomba in mezzo all'erba questa svolazzi via...

Non ci ho fatto mai caso, però non credo sia così tanto leggero come dicono, dalla grafica non sembra, speriamo non sia come il primo.
