Dunleavy can't say when he'll be back
Indiana Pacers swingman Mike Dunleavy said the questions about his return are coming from everywhere.
Fans, teammates and even his wife have been in his ear about a return date from his right knee injury.
"I have the same answer for them -- I don't know," he said Wednesday. "I really don't know because this thing has a mind of its own. I'm going to have to ride it out and see."
Dunleavy's uncertainty about his return is not good for the Pacers.
During the preseason, he was limited to a 12-minute appearance in one of the eight games. He missed his third regular-season game Wednesday night against the Phoenix Suns at Conseco Fieldhouse.
The Pacers are still calling Dunleavy's injury tendinitis, but coach Jim O'Brien said the tendon is unique because "some of it has turned into a bone spur."
"It's not settling down as much as we would have liked it to," O'Brien said.
Dunleavy said there hasn't been any talk about surgery.
"We don't prefer to go down that road," he said. "Maybe later on it's something you explore, but right now we feel like that's not the answer."
Dunleavy has played at least 75 games in each of his six seasons, but he couldn't say how many games he expects to play.
"My goal is to get back to playing on the court at some point and be healthy and be able to contribute," he said. "Anything after that is really getting ahead of ourselves."
Dunleavy will continue conditioning on the side and doing light shooting. He said he hopes to be able to increase his activities next week.
"It clearly has become a bigger issue because we thought we would have him more in the preseason than we have had him," O'Brien said. "We thought he would be ready for the opening game and be his normal self."
Diener returns
Point guard Travis Diener wasted little time making his presence felt after missing the preseason and the first two regular-season games.
It's too bad it earned him a technical foul.
Diener was given a technical after he bumped Suns forward Amare Stoudemire following one his six dunks with 5:55 left in the game.
The 6-10, 249-pound Stoudemire was able to sell the call when he fell to the ground after being bumped by the 6-1, 175-pound Diener.
Diener had been sidelined with a sore left foot. He played eight minutes, going 1-of-2 from the field with two rebounds, an assist and a body check.
Jack a little sore
Pacers point guard Jarrett Jack may wake up a little sore after taking two hard falls.
Jack fell hard on his buttocks after being fouled by Suns guard Raja Bell in the third quarter. Bell was given a flagrant foul.
Jack went the ground hard again when Phoenix's Grant Hill fouled him with 6:47 left in the game. Jack, who had eight points and three turnovers, stayed in the game after both fouls.
Io non so proprio scegliere.
a me detroit-toronto è piaciuta molto quindi te la consiglio
Est: 1-Boston, 2-Detroit, 3-Toronto, 4-Cleveland, 5-Atlanta, 6-Indiana, 7-Orlando, 8-Miami
Ovest: 1-Lakers, 2-Phoenix, 3-New Orleans, 4-Utah, 5-Houston, 6-Dallas, 7-San Antonio, 8-Portland
