Monochrome's Contagion:zombie survival is back

Per farla breve,i creatori del mod multiplayer free per HL2 "Zombie Panic Source" hanno messo in piedi una software house e ora stanno sviluppando questo gioco indie che è,secondo le dichiarazioni degli sviluppatori,il successore (in versione professionale e a pagamento) del famoso mod multiplayer.Differenza importante è che Contagion,diversamente da ZPS,avrà una importante parte single player oltre alla parte multiplayer (non menzionata nelle notizie rilasciate ma confermata sui forum dagli sviluppatori).Per chi non conoscesse ZPS,è un mod multiplayer in cui i giocatori giocano all'interno di una mappa come umani survivor.Uno dei giocatori (volontario o scelto a random dal gioco)inizia come carrier (se i giocatori sono molti,altri players iniziano come zombie normali per aiutare il carrier).Il carrier è uno zombie speciale,più forte e capace di contagiare i survivor.I survivor contagiati dopo un pò diventano zombie.Chi viene ucciso respawna come zombie.I survivor iniziano con un'arma melee e una pistola con pochissime munizioni.Devono trovare le armi sparse per la mappa.2 game mode.ZP Survival (sopravvivere per tot minuti) e ZP objective (completare obiettivi avanzando attraverso la mappa per fuggire.Il gameplay cerca di essere simulativo,con poche munizioni,pochissime armi e ampio utilizzo di armi bianche e barricate,oltre al lavoro di squadra indispensabile.Questo per dire cosa ci si può aspettare da Contagion.

Hey all,
I know it's been sometime since last we updated you on Zombie Panic: Source's progress and today we had plans to do just that, but because of some confusion and a bar fight it will have to wait till next weekend. I'll even toss in a video But instead of leaving you with nothing, I have some incredible news to share with you since it was our biggest fans who inspired Monochrome LLC's newest project -





Contagion is a spiritual successor to the hottest Half-Life 2 mod since 2008, Zombie Panic: Source. Eugene and Marcus, icons of the mod return to do what they do best - Survive and stomp out any undead that may cross their path. Contagion will be a story driven, atmospheric experience, throwing you into the middle of a zombie outbreak with a focus on survival. As the player you will not have the luxury of a suitcase of ammo and a trolley to carry along your weapon stash.




Contagion guarantees not to be your average zombie game and will pit you against unique and terrifying enemies, new features, a variety of new weapons to choose from, and a powerful soundtrack that promises to completely immerse the player in the world we've built.










We would like to thank our incredibly loyal community for all their support and point out that it was because of a large number of enthusiastic ZP:S players who asked us to work on a Single Player version that inspired us to move forward with this project. We would also like to thank Valve, who've shown both mod and indie developers a generous amount of support and it is with our trust in them and their ever changing engine that we'll be developing Contagion on the Source Engine. We're also excited to announce that we will be looking for playtesters to test our existing alpha build soon.

Il multi di Zombie Panic è divertentissimo e lo dimostra il fatto che ci giocano ancora in tanti dopo quasi 4 anni.Il che per un mod free la dice già lunga.

Se Contagion offrirà il multi di zps,un bel single e la qualità tecnica di un gioco a pagamento,sarà già un gran bel gioco.
Ma sicuramente miglioreranno e rifiniranno anche il gameplay,limando i difetti di ZPS.Hanno passato anni a raccogliere i feedback dalla community di zps e provare varie modifiche al mod,e molti suggerimenti li hanno raccolti ma non applicati sul mod probabilmente per utilizzarli in Contagion.

Comunque spero che il gioco mantenga le promesse
