HULC suits up for Afghanistan
Lockheed Martin's Human Universal Load Carrying (HULC) system is to be deployed to Afghanistan in December and January, HULC programme manager Keith Maxwell told Jane's at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) exhibition in late October. The exoskeleton system is undergoing tests and evaluation with the US Army for the next six months, but in the meantime, Lockheed Martin is planning to send at least two HULC outfits to be used by the company's field support personnel in-theatre
