Legendary Pictures has confirmed what fans have speculated on for some time: King Kong and Godzilla will once again meet on the big screen in 2020.

Coming after 2017's Kong: Skull Island and 2018's Godzilla 2, King Kong vs. Godzilla will mark the start of a shared universe of the movie monsters now controlled by Legendary, which also include other Toho creations Mothra, Rodan, and King Gidorah.

The move comes after Legendary announced it would work with Warner Bros. on Kong: Skull Island, rather than bringing the picture to Universal.
