NUOVO ALBUM

Nel mese di febbraio verranno concluse le registrazioni del nuovo album dei Dream Theater iniziate il 1° novembre 2004. Al momento l'uscita è prevista per il mese di maggio. Come sempre la band è riservatissima su questo delicato campo e non ha fatto trapelare nessuna news al riguardo.
Poche le notizia nelle nostre mani.
L'"Inspiration Corner" è composto da 5 album, nessun titolo ci è stato rivelato.
James LaBrie (come per TOT) è stato presente in studio durante tutto il periodo di scrittura e composizione dei nuovi brani.
Non è stato scelto ancora chi mixerà l'album, non necessariamente sarà, ancora una volta, Kevin Shirley.
Jordan Rudess ha portato con se nuove tastiere (Roland, Yamaha, Korg, Haken, Synthogy) ed in sala di registrazione è anche presente un pianoforte a coda.
Mike Portnoy registrerà con il "Siamese Monster" ma anche con il kit "John Bonham" con il quale ha suonato per il tributo ai Led Zeppelin chiamato "Hammer of the Gods".
Le melodie vocali sono già state composte, mentre sono in fase di finalizzazione i testi scritti da James, John Petrussi e Mike, nel frattempo è già stato deciso (ma non comunicato) il nome del nuovo album.
Come lo stesso Mike ci ha confidato: "Il nuovo album sarà diverso da quelli precedenti, tuttavia questa, non sarà la nuova direzione dei Dream Theater ma, semplicemente, un'altra sperimentazione, i nostri fans ci conoscono, ci piace la sfida".

Come lo stesso Mike ci ha confidato: "Il nuovo album sarà diverso da quelli precedenti, tuttavia questa, non sarà la nuova direzione dei Dream Theater ma, semplicemente, un'altra sperimentazione, i nostri fans ci conoscono, ci piace la sfida".

L'inspiration corner non è altro che una raccolta di album, di altri artisti, dai quali trarre ispirazione...ognuno dei membri ne porta uno o più.

ah ecco... sono curioso di sapere di che album parlano, almeno a cd completato

PS.: sbaglio o per scrivere il suo nome sulla copertina ha usato un font mooolto simile a quello del logo classico Dream Theater?


DREAM THEATER frontman James LaBrie has set "Elements of Persuasion" as the title of his third solo album, due on March 15 via InsideOut Music. Musicians appearing on the album include Matt Guillory (DALI'S DILEMMA) on keyboards, Mike Mangini (EXTREME, ANNIHILATOR) on drums, Bryan Beller (STEVE VAI) on bass, and a new guitar prodigy from Italy named Marco Sfogli. The CD will also feature a special guest appearance by fellow Canadian Kim Mitchell (MAX WEBSTER). Engineering chores are being handled by James' old WINTER ROSE bandmate Richard Chycki who has done work for the likes of AEROSMITH, RUSH, and the JEFF HEALEY BAND. Look for James to perform live with his band in April and May to support the release. Stay tuned for more details.

Hi All,

Well, I don't know where to start. Okay, well first let me say to those of you who have investigated Marco and are concerned about his looks you are here for the wrong reasons. I don't give a shit how anyone looks, it is first and foremost about them as a musician and then the person. This guy is absolutely incredible, intelligent and will blow everyone away. He is brilliant, I have not heard many guitar players with such grace, technical ability, feel and soul play like this. He is only 24 years old and sounds like he has been playing for as many years.
Also, to Pat I wouldn't put out an album like Sting, Gino, or whomever the style might be because Dream Theater is going down (though we have only begun to really rise) it would be for the simple fact that that would be my direction musically.
As for the James La Brie versus moniker. I came up with the name but instead of getting into things legally it better serves me to just move on and release it as the James La Brie Band and not another moniker. Don't misunderstand, everyone at Magna was cool with my departure and didn't verbally say not to use the name, I just feel like this is a new chapter for me as a solo artist and I want to release it as it is with my name.
Now let's get on to what really counts.
We have recorded Drums, bass and are now recording guitars. We have a little more keyboard parts and piano but will done within a week along with the guitars. Let me jump back to the guitars. Wow, as I'm writing this we have just broke from doing one of the heaviest songs ever and Marco was sick on this track. I am not kidding, you will lose it when you hear this guy, he can kick your ass one moment and then the next take you to a higher place with such a powerful melody. It's unreal, I'm freaking.
As for the songs, you will get everything here, mood, emotion, balls, atmospheric, experimental with a constant sonic onslaught. Oh, just to squash and concerns, don't worry about wimpy shit, most of the songs are going to rip your fu..ing heads off.
Gotta get back to recording. I will be doing my vocals on and off during Nov. and then along with Rich will start mixing. The wait will be worth it. This is without a doubt the best of any of the solo discs.

Perché, la copertina non è forse molto "ACOSiana" ?
Il primo Mullmuzzler mi era piaciuto, comunque ("Belzebubba", o come si scrive, mi faceva impazzire ), il secondo non ce l'ho.

La sala dove lo faranno suonare è minuscola anche se l'acustica, tutto sommato, è decente.

Io sarei tentato di andarci più che altro perchè, causa spazi ridotti, la gente non sarà tanta e potrebbe essere un concerto dall'atmosfera interessante.

Però 20€...

Secondo me dipende tutto da quanto durerà il concerto.

è tanto se pensi cmq che stai andando a vedere nn una band ma una sorta di progetto parallelo, una formazione temporanea..

Per me invece quello non conta, contano le persone che vado a sentire suonare, non il fatto che il gruppo sia un progetto parallelo. Sempre IMHO comunque!
