Xbox 360 to Add More than 85 Enhancements with the Fall System Update and Raise the Bar for High Definition Interactive Gameplay and Entertainment

Beginning the morning of Tuesday 31st October, owners of the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft™ around the world will be able to download a free system update that will provide more than 85 new features and enhancements, including support for native 1080p games and movies, faster Arcade game list display times and even more choices when it comes to video playback options.

This free update will be distributed via the Xbox Live® online gaming and entertainment network to all members (Xbox Live Silver and Xbox Live Gold) with no disc or hard drive required. Gamers without an Xbox Live account can easily sign up for free by connecting their console to a broadband Internet connection. Once online, downloading the update is fast and simple, and provides instant access to features such as:

Expanded HD Display and Video Playback Options

• With 1080p resolution, gamers now have the ability to enjoy both game and video content in the best HD resolution currently available. <LI nd="3">Expanded video playback options increase the ways gamers can enjoy video content on Xbox 360. It is now possible to stream WMV video from a Windows PC running Windows Media Player 11 or Windows Media Connect. <LI nd="4">Gamers can now play video files from data CDs and DVDs, as well as from storage devices like USB 2.0 flash drives and Xbox 360 Memory Units.
• Xbox 360 will support 50hz HDTV display modes, providing viewers greater choice in how they watch DVD and HD DVD content.

Xbox Live Arcade Enhancements

• Keeping up to date on Xbox Live Arcade games is now even more convenient with the ability to automatically download newly released Xbox Live Arcade trial games. This eliminates the need to manually search for new downloads on Xbox Live Marketplace each time a new game trial is released.
• Fast Enumeration of Games. You’ll see the games in your Xbox Live Arcade collection appear almost instantly. Get in and play right away.
• With so many games to choose from, Xbox Live Arcade added new sorting options such as “Recently Played” and “By Category.” These enhancements make managing Xbox Live Arcade collections faster and easier than ever.
• A new expanded Friends Leaderboard within Xbox Live Arcade allows gamers to compare themselves directly against their friends and view leaderboard details of their top-10 friends.
• A new expanded Achievements View within Xbox Live Arcade lets gamers view their full Achievement details for their Arcade games including descriptions, icons, allotted Gamerscore and more, right from the Xbox Live Arcade dashboard interface.
• The “Play Now” launch feature has been streamlined. Selecting “Play Now” after downloading a game in Xbox Live Marketplace now bypasses Arcade and takes you directly to the game.
• Xbox Live Arcade now offers a “Tell a Friend” feature. Select this from the game info screen to send any friend on your friends list a message telling them about the Arcade game.

XNA Support

• Amateur game designers will be able to test and play the games they create using XNA Game Studio Express on their Xbox 360 systems when it launches later this year (separate download and subscription required).

Come prevedibile manca il supporto nativo al DivX, ma ora è possibile sharare da PC anche i Video oltre che alla musica con Media Connect.
Per il resto atteso l'arrivo della modalità 1080p!!!

Bene bene..solo che io non ho LIVe...ma esiste un modo per avere sto aggiornamento senza live?tipo scaricarlo e masterizzarlo su cd come si faceva con l' emualtore? o lo metteranno nei nuovi giochi?...

Si, se hai un Live! Silver/Gold, al primo avvio dopo il rilascio dell'aggiornamento, la patch verrà scaricata automaticamente.

Ovviamente si riferiscono agli stessi video riproducibili da HardDisk e da PC...

L'ho appena installato e il primo cambiamento che ho notato è che in Dead Rising l'effetto tearing è aumentato a dismisura... Prima era visibile sono in alcune aree del gioco (vedi Entrance Plaza), adesso praticamente c'è ovunque... PORCA EVA!!!
Ne sono sicuro perchè ci ho giocato, ho smesso per fare l'upgrade della dashboard e ho ricominciato a giocare...
Nessuno l'ha notato???

Ne sto leggendo di tutti i colori su questo update: console non modificate che saltano(che si dia una regolata: non può esserci una moria ad ogni update,prima o poi finisce anche la garanzia),problemi nell'uscire a 1080p su alcuni monitor e tv.
In questa generazione ce la stanno mettendo tutta per non farmi comprare mezza console(e,se continuano così,non compro niente davvero).

scusate ma come è possibile che io nn posso più giocare a Top Spin 2 perchè mi dice che la console è settata a 50hz e deve essere settata a 60. Se vado nel impostazione display mi dice che è impostata a 60 e cmq nn mi permette più di cambiare (cosa che potevo fare prima che facessi l'aggiornamento a qualcuno è capitato) e poi se provo a settarla a 1080p mi da lo schermo nero sul mio philips Full HD ZOMG. A qualcuno è capitata sta cosa di top spin 2 e riesce ancora a cambiare la frequenza di aggiornamento della console tra 50 e 60? HELP ME PLS

Ne sto leggendo di tutti i colori su questo update: console non modificate che saltano(che si dia una regolata: non può esserci una moria ad ogni update,prima o poi finisce anche la garanzia),problemi nell'uscire a 1080p su alcuni monitor e tv.

in effetti hanno piantato su un bel casino. Nel tentativo di bloccare le macchine modificate hanno incasinato le ultime versioni uscite NON MODIFICATE!!!!!!
La cosa divertente e' che i piratozzi se la ridono bellamente perche' le loro macchine continuano a funzionare mentre un sacco di utenti onesti sta passando dei brutti 5 minuti.

PS: io spero che la M$ abbia qualche asso nella manica. Forse con questo update le macchine modificate continuano ad andare ma chi lo sa se riusciranno a far girare i prossimi giochi che usciranno?? magari hanno cambiato qualcosa a livello del controllo unita' di lettura, sarebbe sicuramente un bel colpaccio!!!!!

risolto il problema dei 50-60hz ho dovuto selezionare il cavo su TV scegliere i 60hz e ripassare su HDTV però mi ricordavo che si potesse cambiare la frequenza di aggiornamento anche se il cavo era impostato su HDTV boh? forse mi ricordo male io

Ci credo che non funzioni a 1080p sul tuo philips: i philips full hd arrivano al massimo a 1080i.
