Summer 2005, the Mapping-Area.net forums :
jC_Omega plans to breathe a second life into unfinished and forgotten maps.
His idea was to modify the maps to fit into a certain scenario, so that they can be used for a small single player mod.
But the public wasn't interested in this idea. A small team was formed anyway and it created two maps and set up a website. But with the addition of more weapons and skins, the team moved further away from the original idea and in the end abondoned it completely.
Today, the mod is far away from the original concept (only 4 of the former 23 maps were recycled), and "Get a Life" evolved from a collection of recycled maps into a total conversion mod.
Get a Life Features :All this with English and French voice acting, provided with English, French, German, Czech, Spanish, Finnish and Swedish subtitles!
- 4 chapters (a total of 25 different maps) offering almost 11 hours of gameplay
- gripping story about the main character Alex Zemlinsky, who is trying to learn everything about his mysterious past
- 13 different weapons, 3 of them upgradable with modules
- unique gameplay:
- enhanced AI (including squads and advanced combat tactics such as taking cover and fear behavior), developed in cooperation with the E.Y.E. mod team
- new healing system with several body damage zones and diseases
- bullet-time system
- survival (fight off waves of enemies coming at you) and sneak passages (making noise just makes it harder)
- features a variety of enemies, with heights ranging from 2 centimeters to 2 meters, and a "gore and gib" system
- a new gameplay (advanced damage system, bullet time...) new AI, HUD, effects and enemies.
- 61 characters
- 76 dialogs, around ten documents to endorse the storyline
- 24 music tracks
