Volleyball Manager 2008

Hello all!

I'm the author of Volleyball Manager 2008 - a freeware computer game, made with great support of Polish volleyball fans.

Our game is still under development, but it already contains a huge database with over 8000 male players, 500 clubs and 100 national teams.
It includes all major competitions like Olympic Games, World Championships, World League, European club competitions, league competitions and cups etc.
If you have ever played SI Games' Football Manager, you will get the idea of our project. Recently we have released an English language beta-version.

To run it you have to have Microsoft .NET installed.

Thank you for posting your work, it seem to be a very interesting project. I'm sure that Italian volleyball (and management sim games) fans will be pleased.

Thanks guys for your nice welcome.
I don't speak Italian, I can only understand some single words, therefore thank you Ethan81 for a short translation of my first post.

Our game has been known only in Poland due to its language. A few days ago we have released English language version and started to cooperate with some volleyball fans from Europe - we receive from them feedback regarding player skills, clubs data from their region and bugs found in current game edition.

We are looking for Italian fans support to make Serie A1 & Serie A2 players more realistic and add lower Italian divisions to our database.

I hope it will also have an Italian language version in the future, but I don't know how many Italians (and how much ) are interested in such home-made PC games, which are quite popular in Poland.

We've focused on male volleyball, because we had got sufficient support to gather data, prepare database, rate player skills and update it every season. For instance, we have cooperated directly with many youth team players in Poland.

It is much harder to collect all this information about female volleyball.

Yes, it's a crucial thing for us to have a direct feedback from Italian volleyball supporters regarding Serie A1, A2, and maybe more (B1, B2, ..., in the future ) to make our game more realistic. We're following the same way like Football Manager developers.

Of course, the more we know a team from European Cups games, the better we can observe players and rate their skills, but for more obscure Italian teams and lower divisions we can only estimate it very very roughly. During last days we had an opportunity to work with scouts from Turkey, Finland, Holland and other countries and we could see that such a support is simply priceless for us. I hope to achieve at least the same level of cooperation in Italy.

I am als one of the member of VM team and I'm very happy that you are so interested in our modest game . We surely need some backup in creating Italian championships especcialy at the lower leagues(we already have Italian Serie A1 and A2).

Maybe I will give you some additional information about VM
There is no play-off phase in the game- that's still true but now we test version 1.14 with this phase implemented- it wiil be ufortunalety the same play-off in all league competitions because of huge differences between them (rules of being relegated to lower divisions, rules of promotion etc)...
Implementation of more complicated competition system in every league was problematic for us. We agreed to establish one common competition standard for every national league.
The transfer engine in VM is still only average , but we work on it. In next edition the impact of major league competitions' prestige will be more visible because now too many well-known players go to "anonymouse" clubs .

Dont worry I will make you go step by step so you easily understand how to play

1)First you choose english by clicking Zmien jezyk gry and choose English . Then you click on Quick Start. It takes 25-40 sec to start the game on my computer
2) Here you can start your career by choosing Add manager and selecting teams, difficulty level - remember you must name your manager

3) To go to the next day you must click continue at the right bootom of the screen

5 The next rival and the next match
4) If you want to play immediately you have to arrange friendly match so choose teams -click on Teams at the upper part of the screen and choose one of them you like(except your own team). Then you will see this

You click on play the friendly game and you must choose your squad and pay for it(the better opponent the more you must pay)
To negiotiate contract with a player he must be out of contract (there are no transfers like in football)

We are also thinking about italian version so the question is - do you think it will make VmM more popular in Italy (because we think that unfortunalety not many Italians speak englis good enough to play english version) ? We even found someone interested in translating so there is a chance to make it maybe with your help in more difficult volleyball words

That would definitely be a plus.

I'd really like to be a part of the translation team, but unfortunately I have very little time...I've already took part twice in the past in other game translations, and in both cases I had to give up, so I don't wanna start something I know I won't be able to finish.

About italian version:
Well we found one Poles who speaks eitalian and even a long time ago someone from Italy reguister and tried to play in polish version - that's the second person to translate

Il responsabile di volleyball è una serie di giochi di simulazione dell'amministrazione di volleyball, scritta da volleyball polacco smazza il?lusarek di Tomasz e Wojciech Sapiecha e si è sviluppato dall'inizio di 2005. È un progetto senza scopo di lucro e tutti i giochi possono essere distribuiti soltanto come freeware. La versione completa del gioco è stata liberata sui 26 di settembre del 2007 ed è chiamato Volleyball Manager 2007 (attualmente versione 1.12 con gli squads aggiornati per condire 2007/200. Beta-versione inglese del responsabile 2007 di Volleball con gli aggiornamenti e le zone (il responsabile 200was di volleyball si è liberato su 17 di febbraio del 2008. Questo gioco scritto nella struttura del NET include un motore avanzato del fiammifero, una base di dati enorme con 8 migliaia dei giocatori realistichi, parecchi del competitions(del randello di dozzine conosciuti il più bene: Serie italiano A/Serie B, pro A/Pro francese B, Superligue russo e Vyzsha Liga A, PLS polacco, Superliga brazylian e Liga particolare argentino, tutti i concorsi europei della tazza) completamente ha dettagliato i concorsi nazionali (giochi di Olimpic, campioni del mondo, lega del mondo, tazza del mondo, campionati continentali), posti di CEV e di FIVB, comunicati stampa, probabilità di bookmakers, abbondanza delle opzioni come addestramento e le tattiche messa a punto, garanzia e finanze. È possibile aggiungere i pacchetti dei grafici ai marchi delle foto e del randello dei giocatori dell'esposizione nel gioco (ufficiale o fatto dai ventilatori)
La VM è ancora in sviluppo. Gli autori provano a migliorare la relativa velocità ed ad effettuare le nuove caratteristiche come la fase di spareggio per tutti i concorsi della lega, nuove funzioni dell'amministrazione e di finanza ed a rendere il motore del fiammifero più realistico di questo è ora. Il gioco ora è disponibile in una versione di due lingue: lo smalto ed inglese (beta-versione - 17 di febbraio del 200, versione italiana è progettato in avvenire. [ pubblichi ] versione inglese La beta-versione inglese (responsabile 2008 di volleyball) è stata liberata su 17 di febbraio del 2008. È una versione accelerata e rattoppata del responsabile 2007 di volleyball - più degli insetti conosciuti sono stati risolti.
