When we finished ASM, there were a lot of things that we felt we wanted to do bigger and better. The entire game was a learning process for us as we'd never really done anything like it before. Having learned some valuable lessons, we wanted to put our efforts into improving the heart of what ASM offered with our newfound skills.
SAM is a sequel, but in a weird sense. Since there were so many ways the story of ASM could have ended, it has been a unique challenge writing a story that makes sense across all the possibilities. You will come to understand what I mean in the future.
For now, we are asking for the save files to help with both testing and design.
Sometimes Always Monsters is an exciting project for us, and an opportunity for us to expand the range of experiences we are able to offer. Please understand that this game may feel a lot different than your expectations, but we hope to delight and surprise you when it is completed.
