Spettacolo i Terran.

Ottimi i supply depot nascondibili.

...SPLAT! :D
Ma io sono uno Zerg... Non dovrei pensare queste cose...

Nuove info:
- Addio Soul Hunter http://www.battle.net/forums/thread....=1&#post210968

We have a lot of units going into StarCraft 2 right now. Many of these units you have already seen, others you havent had a chance to hear about yet. We have a few rules for our units:
1) A unit should have a cool personality. A unit must be something that is fun to play with.
2) A unit should have their own very unique role on the battlefield.
3) A unit should be fun for the enemy to try to deal with. Generally this means good strengths and interesting weaknesses.
Theres a lot more to it of course (how intuitive it is, will it balance well, etc) but thats the basics. Right now we have a lot of units on the Protoss. Not every Protoss unit you have heard about is going to make the cut. They are in training camp. We put them in the game and we see how they do. We compare them to some other units and see how much overlap there is between various units in the game. We compare units that are similar and then we make the call. Which unit is cooler? Which unit has a more unique role? Which unit is more fun to fight against?
Sometimes units will get cut. For example, the Soul Hunter is not going to show at Blizzcon. He appears to have failed his training period. He was kind of cool, but not cool enough. Some other units that you have seen are going through some significant changes. They have adapted and may yet survive. Thats how we do it. Being able to try units out before we decide if they are going to be in the game or not is a huge advantage for our development process and its an opportunity that not every developer gets. Well give you more specific information on the Protoss as we figure it out. Even what you see at Blizzcon will be work-in-progress. After Blizzcon things will most definitely continue to evolve.

The Thor will not be the Terran equivalent to the Protoss Mothership. In addition, you will be able to build more than one Thor. The Thor unit will not be the type of unit you'll want to march into the enemy base by itself.

- Snipe is an ability which can deals huge damage to the target except a Mechanical unit.
- Launching XXX is an ability that summons 6 marines to the battlefield.
2. Battlecruiser
- Got a new upgrade called Plasma Injection (nome tradotto alla buona) which can deals huge AoE damage to ground targets.
3. Viking
- In walker mode, Viking can attack a ground target with Gatling gun.
- In fighter mode, he can attack an aerial target.
- Transform ability can be accessed by fighter mode upgrade.
4. Banshee

- Uses a missile volley which deals huge AoE damage to ground targets.

- He has some siege weapon which can deals a huge damage to building or large object.

:sisi:

I have seen a lot of concerns on this board and on other boards about autocast and how this will remove a lot of skill from the game. This would be a really exciting debate, if only we were using it as much as some folks imagine we are. I'm afraid that most of our abilities aren't really appropriate for auto-cast. Here are some examples from the latest build.
Psi Storm: this ability fires with so much authority, uses so much energy and hits your own units if you're not careful. The player MUST choose when to do this. We cannot possibly do it for him. Any decision we would make would certainly be wrong most of the time. Plus if we could figure out a rule set for autocasting Psi-Storm (and I don't see how we could) we would remove way too much skill by putting it in the game.
Force Field: same deal. Position is so important we couldn't possibly choose for you and be smart about it. Plus it would ruin all the fun of using the spell.
Time Bomb: same. We can't make it auto-cast. There is no simple rule that would work. Plus, it would remove a lot of skill of using it at exactly the right moment.
StarCraft special abilities are very different from special abilities in other games. They fire off occasionally, they can be used with great precision and they cost a lot of energy so a "miss" is a huge loss. With this kind of design on our abilities, autocast simply doesn't work very often.
The only place we are doing auto-cast at the moment is on the SCV repair ability and on Medics healing people. Both are very similar abilities. They are used a lot. They have a very low cost associated with them so if the unit automatically heals or repairs something you don't want, it's not that big a deal.

Re: [StarCraft 2] Topic ufficiale!!

TERRAN
- Some units have been removed from the game to give way to new ones. The Firebat got axed.
- Command Center moves, lift-off, lands swifter and may be upgraded into a Planetary Fortress causing damage to ground units.
- Techlab - Barrack Addon allows production of high-tech infantry, and of nuclear reactor. The Techlab shares synergy with the Barrack and Factory. You can lift-off and land any of both buildings on the techlab platform.
- Bunkers - they are back on Starcraft II
- Sensor Dome - detects enemy units approaching in fog of war, by highlighting the units, but it doesn't lift fog of war. Probably detects incoming stealthed units.
- Battlecruiser - got an upgrade to Plasma Torpedoes.
- Banshee - An air-to-ground unit which can cloak itself and is recommended to cloak within viking groups. Banshees only do damage to ground-units and lacks air-to-air attacks.
- Thor - Attacks air and ground units, but moves very slow. However, the Thor has a lot of hit points. Can be built by an SCV. Recommended to stay in the back of your ground assault. The Thor has a very long range of attack, and can be used to destroy Reavers before they get anywhere near your troops or base.
- Cobra - Air hover-tank able to attack air and ground enemy-units.
- Ghost - They have better hit points, faster re-fire rate and mobility. Ghosts can call down a "drop pod" on the field, to bring in units, by using its laser-sight to designate the drop-pod landing spot.
PROTOSS
- Twilight Council - required to research Immortals and Stalkers.
- Robotics Facility - requires a Twilight Council. Robotics Facility can research the following units: Phase Prism, Observers, Reavers and Colossus. Observers and Reavers require a Null Circuit however.
- Colossus The unit is built from the Robotics Facility, but requires a War Beacon building.
- Warp Beacon - Requires a Robotics Facility and researches upgrades for the Colossus.
- Null Circuit - Requires a Robotics Facility. Null Circuit allows the production of Observers and Revears. It also researches upgrades for the Observer, Reaver, and Phase Prism. Gravitic Booster: Observer movement speed. Gravitic Drive: Phase Prism movement speed. And scarab damage upgrade.
- Stargate - Requires a Twilight Council. It can warp in Phoenix, Tempest, Warp Ray, Star Relic and the Mothership.
- Fleet Beacon - Requires a Stargate. The Fleet Beacon is required to warp in Warp Rays and Star Relics. It researches Gravitic Thrusters to increase Phoenix movement; Apial Sensors to increase the sight range of Phoenix; and Detonate upgrade for the Star relic will cause it to explode after a short time. Sounds like Kamikaze against enemy units.
- Cybernetics Core - Requires a Twilight Council. This building is used to upgrade weapon and armors of the Zealot, Stalker, Immortal; as well as upgrades for air units. It also provides the "Charge" upgrade on Zealots, "Blink" for Stalkers, "Hardened Shield" for Immortal which decreases damage by single targets by 10. The Cybernetics Core also upgrades air weapons for the Phoenix, Warp Ray, Tempest and interceptors: level 1-3. Sounds like a good target for enemies to wish to destroy at all costs as a strategy. The Cybernetics Core also upgrades armor level 1-3 for Phoenix, Warp Ray, Tempest and Interceptors.
- Templar Archives - Requires a Cybernetics Core. It is needed to warp in High Templars, and to research upgrades such as the Psi Storm and Khaydarin Amulet (Max High Templar energy increases by 50).
High Yield Mineral Field - Yellow minerals available in low supplies. They yield 12 minerals per cycle, whereas normal minerals yield 8 per cycle.
Idle Unit Button - Like in Warcraft III, now your harvesting units will display an idle unit icon onscreen to alert of units that are idle. By clicking the button/icon they resume their harvesting. You can assign the Nexus, Hive or Command Center to select a target, such as the minerals, and your harvesting units will automatically gather minerals.
