A combination of sandbox elements and the deadly combat of RTS naval warfare ensures a vast number of possibilities. Per gli amanti delle battaglie navali della seconda guerra mondiale finalmente è uscito un gioco degno di questo nome che non sia un mmo. Victory at seas ha principalmente 3 modalità di gioco. Campagna, battaglie storiche e schermaglia. La modalità campagna ricorda moooolto quella del Vecchio "Sid Meier's Pirates".
Si sceglie uno dei tre fronti (Pacifico/Atlantico/Mediterraneo), una delle due fazioni (Inglesi o Americani..Si non si può giocare con i Tedeschi o soprattutto con gli Italiani e al momento le altre fazioni sono disponibili solo nelle battaglie storiche o nelle schermaglie) e poi si parte alla conquista della mappa. La mappa è suddivisa in vari porti (amici o nemici) e si parte con una piccola barchetta con la quale gironzoleremo ingaggiando le varie navi nemiche che girano o aiutando i nostri alleati negli scontri. Una volta ingaggiato il nemico, si passerà alla modalità strategica dove controlleremo le nostre navi (anche direttamente se vogliamo) in scontri con varianti del tipo sfondare o difendere il blocco navale, distruggere il convoglio nemico, assaltare il porto difendendo le nostre truppe ecc, oltre al tipico affonda le navi nemiche (che poi è sempre lo scopo principale..).
Una volta vinta la battaglia si acquistano punti esperienza e crediti. I primi migliorano i vari comandanti e caratteristiche dell'equipaggio (in automatico in maniera semplice eh..) oltre a permetterci di sbloccare altre navi. Facendo ritorno nei porti alleati si ripareranno le navi, si potranno prendere missioni speciali e comprare nuove navi man mano che le sblocchiamo e che facciamo soldi nelle varie battaglie.
A questo aggiungiamo un bel pò di navi (ma davvero tante) della varie fazioni in lotta + sottomarini + portaerei e il quadro è completo.
A voler trovare una pecca palese è che mi dispiace non poter utilizzare gli italiani nella campagna..ma sicuramente verranno introdotti anche loro visto che il gioco sta avendo un bel successo su steam e che vogliono introdurre altre navi tra cui anche le nostre.
Il gioco non è complesso e non è che abbia una grafica super dettagliata. Si presenta in maniera semplice visivamente visto che si tratta sempre di un team di una manciata di persone, però direi che per ora è un gioco onesto per la quantità di cose che ci sono e si possono fare.
Il prezzo è altino (22 euro), però penso che sia più che onesto per quel che gioco offre e sono sicuro che gli amanti delle navi e del periodo storico ci passeranno tanto di quel tempo a giocarci che il prezzo verrà altamente giustificato.
Io ve lo consiglio o almeno tenetelo d'occhio :)
