Battlefield 3′s first DLC/expansion pack is called Back To Karkand, and brings back famous Battlefield 2 maps, weapons and vehicles, and brings them into Battlefield 3 with much improved visuals and technology, thanks to the Frostbite engine. Back To Karkand release date and price
Back To Karkand will be released in December, and will arrive one week earlier for PlayStation 3 users. If you own the Limited Edition of Battlefield 3, you’ll get it for free, otherwise the price is $15 (1,200 MS points on the Xbox 360). Back to Karkand won’t just feature new maps, but will include new weapons, vehicles and a new game mode as well.

In addition, Back To Karkand will include new, objective-based rewards, ribbons and medals, and will feature new Xbox 360 achievements and PlayStation 3 trophies. Technology wise, the expansion pack will feature improved destruction as well.
