Dead Island 2 announced
PS4 version gets exclusive beta, character class.
Deep Silver announced Dead Island 2 during Sony Computer Entertainment’s E3 media briefing this evening.
“After the first outbreak on Banoi in Dead Island 1, the world has moved on,” creative producer Jan-Eric Lauble said on the PlayStation Blog. “
Zombies are known and everyone feels safe and prepared. Companies are selling vaccines and the latest zombie survival kits and people believe that the disaster that occurred on a small island in the middle of nowhere could never happen to them. But they were so WRONG!
“Suddenly, a string of brutal outbreaks occur in California and the government puts a wall around the infected area – leaving California as a “Dead Island.” Dead? Not entirely, because let’s face it, a zombie apocalypse has its upsides as well: No boring job, no traffic jams, and no bills to pay.”
Now zombified, California invites players to become the hero of the zombie apocalypse in a “dynamic, bright, and beautiful open world,” where up to eight players can fight together and handcraft their weapons. The combat system has also been remade from scratch.
The PlayStation 4 version will see a 30-day exclusive beta, as well as additional content, such as a character class, only available in the PlayStation 4 version.
