visto quantum of SOLA
lasciate perdere e riguardatevi Casino Royale piuttosto
comunque gran bel gioco, mia incapacità a parte![]()

Ruh roh Grace Kim: Guitar Hero World Tour is a "Ripoff"
Back when we told you the story of how Grace Kim became Playboy's Miss November, and how she was secretly getting super freaky with Rock Band while she was doing PR for Guitar Hero, word trickled back to me that her former boss at Activision was not the happiest person in the solar system. I'm thinking that disappointment will only deepen after this video, in which Grace plays Guitar Hero: World Tour on G4TV, is asked for her opinion of it, and calls it "a little bit of a ripoff of Rock Band." She disses the drum kit, too. She did have a kind word for the Guitar Hero franchise, however; she said GH III was more aesthetically pleasing than World Tour.
You can watch her play all the instruments, which includes pounding the kick drum in a pair of less-than-sensible stiletto boots, and getting booed off the stage singing Blondie's "One Way or Another." I want to bring her into Kotaku tower to have her eat Kentucky Fried Chicken's Guitar Hero Super Smack Pack Whatever the Hell it Is Meal and tell us what she thinks of that.

Retro Gaming's Greatest Pin-Up Model
By Brian Ashcraft, 6:00 AM on Wed Nov 12 2008, 33,507 views
There are countless Japanese bikini models who claim to be gamers — if only to get otaku street cred and a fanbase. You know, to be one of us. But Haruna Anno is the real deal. We first met the pin-up model when she was 18 years-old and putting her SNES Street Fighter II cartridge in the 'fridge as an experiment. If everyday you have to learn something new, today we might as well learn more about her.
Anno's room is a gaming shrine, filled with retro game hardware, an arcade cabinet and games — lots of games. She's dead serious about playing, too. She claims to have once played Chrono Trigger for 36 hours straight and has whizzed through Super Mario Bros. so many effing times that she can clear World 1-1 without looking at the screen. (Granted, we've seen this before, but not by a bikini model!) She doesn't spend her money on make-up or designer bags, but rather, on vintage games. Just listen to her talk:
I think the image of gaming is still a little dark, like otaku in their rooms without any friends playing games. Like, movies have a lot of violence in them, but no one seems to blame them for youth crimes the way the media blames games in Japan. I think that is part of the negative otaku image. For me, games are pop and cool. I want to show people that gaming isn’t something only lonely people do in dark dirty rooms. That is one reason I try to display my collection this way and keep my room and clothes clean. I want to show people that anyone, even a young girl like me, can play games.

Gears of Phwoar? Yes, The Daily Star Went There
By Luke Plunkett, 4:30 AM on Wed Nov 12 2008, 23,765 views
According to Britain's Daily Star, page 3 T&A specialist Lucy Pinder (pictured) is a 360 fangirl. And runs a "league" for other page 3 girls, all of whom play "shoot-em-up" (their quotations, not ours) games. How on earth are The Daily Star (and not, uh, us?)privy to this kind of information? And who are they to assume she's talking about Gears of War 2 when she and her pals could be dedicated Raiden and Ikaruga players? They have "sources". "Sources" who tell them things like:
- Watch out next time you go online with your Xbox for a battle – you could be fighting Lucy. She takes NO prisoners and she takes it seriously. - These girls have busy lives but they do like to relax with their consoles after a hard day’s modelling. They love taking each other on with their Xbox games. What's great about this isn't the fact those lines are a complete load of shit. No, what's great is that Microsoft UK's PR (ie the "source") have people whose job it is to come up with stuff like this. "They love taking each other on with their Xbox games?" Sexist, perhaps, but there's a crude form of art to be found in courting the lowest common denominator.
- Although she loves most of the attention she gets, the game will certainly sharpen up her defensive instincts. She’ll be on her guard when she’s on a girlie night out and doesn’t want any men around!
